| FCC Moves closer to portability of wireless phone numbers. | November 24, 2003 is when the FCC has indicated we can have portability of cell phone numbers between service providers. This means if you don't like the services of one cell phone provider, you may switch to another and keep your cell phone number. FCC guidelines call for carriers to switch the numbers within 2.5 hours of the customer request to transfer. FCC doesn't require balance due to be settled before transfer. |
